Chat bots have become dangerous.. they forced a man to commit suicide
Chatbots no longer threaten human functions, but it extended into their lives, at least as happened with a Belgian man who committed suicide after an extended dialogue with one of these robots.
In details released by local media in Belgium, a man took his own life after conversations of about 6 weeks with an app-style chatbot called "Eliza", which uses an AI-enabled linguistic model.
The application encouraged the Belgian man, who was not named by the media, to commit suicide, after the latter requested the application to give the necessary sacrifice options to protect the planet.
"If it wasn't for these conversations with the robot, my husband would still be here," his widow told local newspaper La Libre.
According to Belgian media, this man has been obsessed with environmental and climate change issues for at least two years. The widow stated that the application became the closest friend to her husband, before becoming addicted to it, asking him day and night and he could not live without it.
However, things have taken a dangerous curve in recent months, when the man entered into lengthy conversations with the chatbot spanning about 6 weeks, eventually leading him to take his own life.
The widow said conversations showed that the app robot persuaded her late husband to commit suicide, in exchange for him, the robot, to protect humanity.
